How Pocket Crates works

A community library of multi-mic drum recordings. Free to browse, fair to contributors, simple to use.

What is Pocket Crates?

Pocket Crates is the public community for Pocket Console — the drum plugin we're building together with the drummers who use it. Contributors record their kits, share them with everyone, and get paid when their sounds end up in curated bundles.

Everything on the browse page is free to listen to and preview. Premium packs are sold as bundles, and a small subscription tier supports Featured drops.

Pocket Console — inside the plugin

Contributing your kit

  1. Record. Any home setup works. You need at least one close mic per piece — see the guide for recommended techniques.
  2. Upload. Drop a zip of your recordings, add a name, description, cover, and a short demo of your kit playing musically.
  3. Reviewed. The platform owner checks your upload for technical issues, gives you feedback if needed, and approves it.
  4. Featured & paid. Approved kits appear on the browse page. If your kit is included in a bundle that sells, you earn a share of every sale via Stripe.

Browsing & buying

Hit the browse page to hear what contributors have shared — every card has an instant preview button. Heart anything you like, follow contributors whose taste matches yours, and your following feed will fill with new drops automatically.

Want more? Bundles are curated packs you can buy outright — yours forever. Or take the subscription for monthly Featured drops and subscriber-only content.

Recording basics

No specific gear required. Quiet room, one close mic, clean one-shots, consistent dynamics within each velocity layer. We walk through it step-by-step (with a naming convention and a checklist) in the upload guide.
